melodrama
For 40 years, Our Savior has presented a Melodrama (an extravagant show with overly dramatic characters and plot lines). The Melodrama cast are volunteers who enjoy acting. The audience often shouts “boo”, “hiss” and “hooray” during the performance. All are invited to join in on the fun. Ticket sales benefit our mission and youth ministries.
trivia night
Every year, C.O.P.E. (Christian Organized for Parochial Education) hosts a Trivia Night. An evening of fun, laughter and friendly competition. All proceeds benefit Our Savior congregational families with children enrolled in parochial schools.
trike-a-thon
Every Spring for the past 23 years, Our Savior hosts a St. Jude Trike-A-Thon fundraiser. Children of all ages enjoy riding around bike tracks and in a neighborhood parade. A local bike shop joins us to perform safety inspections. Staff participate in a friendly competition! Prizes for best decorated bike and helmet. Free lunch. All donations go to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
4th of july parade
Every year, Our Savior community participates in the New Town Fourth of July Parade. An opportunity for us to share the Love of God with those in our surrounding community. Children enjoy riding on the float and handing out candy and other goodies to the crowd.
LWML
The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) is the official women’s auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. For 75 years, the LWML has focused on affirming each woman’s relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions.
Our Savior’s LWML organization is actively serving the mission ministries in our community and collecting “mites” to support the national LWML mission grants.
oasis food pantry
Once a month on the first Tuesday evening of the month, Our Savior serves as the host for OASIS Foodbank. We have volunteers who stock shelves, fill grocery carts, and meet and interview individuals and families who are in need.
adopt a family
Each year at Christmastime, Our Savior is matched with local families in need. Through the generous support from our congregational community, local families are provided Christmas gifts and a meal.
A great service opportunity, sharing the love of Jesus and the real meaning of Christmas to others.
harvest home
Every fall leading up to Thanksgiving, Our Savior congregational community collects personal hygiene items, canned goods, cleaning supplies, and staples. The items collected are then packed and delivered to local families in need at Thanksgiving. We thank God by putting His love into action.
operation christmas child
Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse with a mission to provide local partners around the world with boxes filled with gifts (small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies) as a means of reaching children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Each year, Our Savior donates gift items, packs shoeboxes, and brings JOY to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine and disease.
